OLGUIN, MURIEL: MORE INFO

Muriel Olguin received a M.A. in drawing, painting. and printmaking form State University of California at Long Beach, and studied under Rico Le Brun.

 

She has been active in the local art scene-she was president of the Rembrandt Crew of Palos Verdes Art Center for two years, co-cair of the Southern California Women's Caucus of the Arts, Harbor area, and president of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society for two years. She was a founding member of Angels Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro, and is still active on the board.

 

Olguin has worked in a variety of media including painting, printmaking, banners and murals. Her paintings reveal her respect for the other animals of the earth and our relationship with them.

 

Olguin's murals are in various churches and schools, and her banners can be seen in the Cabrillo Aquarium, the San Pedro Library and downtown San Pedro.

 

Painting exhibits include "Myth and Reality" at the Loft Gallery; "Harmony and Discord" at the Los Angeles County's Century Gallery; "Alumnae Senior Exhibition" at Occidental College, Los Angeles; "I of the Dragon" at the Institute  of Arts, Valencia, California.
