Artist Go woon Choi learned to draw at the age of eight and her passion for art has been prevalent in her ever since then. After changing her major from Fine Arts to Computer Arts, Choi had a ten year long successful career in 3D Computer Art. She work on a variety of projects in the film and gaming industry including Alien vs Predator,Jumper, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and a collection of SEGA games.

 

After a trip to Korea Choi felt a need to paint again but admitted that she didn't have any inspiration. A very good friend of Choi suggested that she may try and paint some things that would not normally be sought after art subjects. Choi began to paint the reflection of light and experimenting with silhouettes.

 

"Aesthetics of Everyday Life" showcases everyday objects painted with unique perspective. Choi has included changing light in her show to make common objects to alter their appearance from the mundane to extraordinary. Feelings of "strength, warmth or loneliness" are all present in these changing objects. Choi's objective with "Aesthetics of Everyday Life" is to remind us of sadness or moments of happiness, transforming ordinary objects into those that provoke intense emotions.
